Please download the test set, unzip it and run four setups one after another. But to find the tool which won’t cause the same bug, I need you to do some tests for me. Since I can’t replicate the notorious “65.1% hang bug” on systems I have access to, the only way is to rebuild the repack from the scratch using slightly different tools.

Cause I didn’t even change the compression technique for at least two latest builds of TS4. The latest repack of The Sims 4 seems to be buggy on many users machines for reasons unknown. Xatab’s repack uses very outdated compression techniques, that’s why it requires much less RAM and works OK on low-end machines. The reason the previous repacks installed and this one doesn’t is that the game size reached the size, when much more memory is required for decompression.

So, here are the steps to test:ġ) Set virtual memory to static size of 12-16 GB (see my troubleshooting guide)Ģ) Close ALL RAM-eating apps, especially browsers.ģ) Run installer with Windows 7 compatibilityĤ) Check “Limit to 2 GB RAM” in installer I suspect, that all of those, who report that, either have no virtual memory set at all or set it very low. Absolute majority of reports comes from 4/8 GB users, usually on old/cheap laptops. I have sims 3 also but I only play that when I have played the other two games and want to catch up with the sims in that game.Right now the common denominator for all users with 65.1% problem is the RAM. Enjoy your game and I like Sims 1 very much and I guess that is why I keep playing it. Glad that I could help some what but you figured out and that is a good thing.

I prefer the 1024x76 but I will see what it will be like once I install all the disks. I really do not like playing in windows mode myself. I will try the -W which is to be added at the end of the string in the general tab of properties for the exe icon. The reason for that is because I do not want to take my cd disk in and out of the drives in case I scratch it or break it. I have that in my complete collection but not as a separate ep to add to my deluxe collection and I am using deluxe for my laptop. I still have not got all my game eps installed as of yet because I am waiting on House Party ep. I too am playing in the 1024x768 resolution for my desk top and my laptop.

I have not tried anything of what you discussed here. For me it is only in the load page of all the houses. I have not tried any of this but I do have the similar problem with not being able to see the whole screen.Īwesome glad you got it going. Instead of going through this extract folder and maybe save yourself some steps. You can also send that to your desk top then right click and put the -W in that as well. the higher the number the smaller the resolution.Īlso too to get to that 800圆00 you can find that in start all Programs maxis folder then you will see your two choices 1024x768 and the resolution for 800圆00. I have not tried that and it seems to me that it would be a larger resolution then 800圆00. Now while I was poking around with this I found this in the compatability tab Settings run in 640x480 resolution. When it comes up you will see in this new exe file the writing will be in blue there you can add the -W that should put it into windows mode. Then once you have that short cut on your desktop then right click that one then go into the Properties. Right click that and make a short cut for your desktop. Then Scroll all the way down till you find the blue icon that says The Sims that is your exe icon file. What I think they are saying here is to go into your Maxis folder and extract the 1440x1080 version file into the sims folder. The exe file is the file that is used to click on to start the game. You can find that folder in your My computer program file (x86). What I think they are saying here is that you have to extract that file to your C: drive Maxis folder. I too am finding that on my laptop the resolution of 1024x768 for the game is not showing me the Hicks trailer or that side of the river.
